Gosia Dzik-Holden is a London & Krakow based knitwear designer maker fondly referred to by her friends and students as the knitting sensei. She loves seamless knitwear and has mastered it over years of focused practice.
She will lead a residential workshop in Somerset in the late autumn of 2018, titled “All Welcome”, the subject of which is learning to knit and improving your knitting skills.
This weekend workshop will be tailored to individual needs of every participant. It doesn’t matter whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced knitter. Whatever objectives you come to Somerset with, it will be Gosia’s pleasure to support you in achieving them!
Once you have registered, Gosia will discuss your individual needs and will help you to prepare, so that you can maximise the potential of your weekend stay at this beautiful venue.
Full board is included in the price of this workshop. The menu will be very delicious, healthy and vegan friendly.
We will be staying at a magical Woodspring Priory, “founded in 1210 perhaps as an expiatory gesture by William de Courtenay, grandson of Reginald FitzUrse who with other West Countrymen murdered Thomas à Becket. It was an Augustinian house of the rare Victorine rule and had St Thomas the Martyr as a patron saint. The priory was a small one but, as elsewhere in Somerset, flourished in the 15th century when the tower and nave of the church, the infirmary and a great barn were built in beautiful golden stone. The north aisle was unfinished when the priory was suppressed in 1536. The church, most unusually, was turned into a house, with a chimneystack built up through the roof of the nave.”
Please book early to void disappointment, as there are only 5 places available.
